1983: the founders started creating work where they believed there was a demand: in garden maintenance, because at the time this sector was neglected by the existing green space companies which mainly focused on environmental maintenance (landscaping walking routes, cleaning river banks, maintaining forest plantations, etc.)

1984: the Ministère de l’Emploi et du Travail (Ministry of Employment and Labour) granted unemployment benefits over a period of 4 years for each unemployed person hired. co-labor rapidly became successful; at the end of the second year: 12 jobs were created for young people in difficulty. co-labor was still managed by volunteers.

In 1985: the route d’Arlon branch was opened in Luxembourg, after Diekirch and Ettelbrück (shop selling wooden items from Scotland - Tim Stead). In the same year, the Ministère de la Famille (Ministry for the Family) subsidised the project, paying three salaries for socio-educational support staff. co-labor was now able to develop its activities as a real company.

In 1986: co-labor opened a garden and environment landscaping section as well as a plant nursery. In order to perform commercial activities (legally incompatible with the status of agricultural association), co-Labor created the cooperative company co-Labor Marketing. In the same year, an agreement was signed between the Ministère de l’Environment (Ministry of the Environment) and the Ministère du Travail (Ministry of Labour), directly awarding co-labor a small-scale contract for forestry work; This made it possible to create over 25 stable jobs.
The foundations of co-labor were thus laid, and this young company could develop its activities. The start-up phase relied on strong support from the State, which enabled co-labor to set up a socio-professional reintegration company.

1987: Head office moved from Diekirch to Luxembourg City.

1990: Economic consolidation of the company in order to stabilise its goal of reintegration.

1993: Floribus flower shop was opened to offer women a framework for reintegration.

1994: Utilia tool shop was opened (social and professional reintegration of persons over 40) and Compo-situs pilot project for composting began.

1995: First change of management and internal reorganisation

1996: Merger between the agricultural association and the marketing cooperative

1997: Stabilisation and improvement of management. The ‘Recherche active d’emploi’ (Active job search) programme began.

1998: ‘De Grénge Kuerf’ pilot project: production and marketing of organic vegetables to provide new openings for women returning to the labour market.  Project supported by the Ministère de la Promotion Féminine (Ministry for Gender Equality).

2006: Creation of the asbl (non-profit association) co-labor, in order to support the company’s socio-educational work where necessary.

2007: ‘Valobois’ pilot project

2008: ‘Bio-sol’ European project

2010: Pilot project: starting organic fruit production

2013: ‘Holzmanufaktur’ pilot project: workshop was set up for the construction of outdoor furniture.

2015-2016:  co-labor moved to Bertrange

2018: Change of management

2019: Launch of the project 2000m2  https://www.2000m2.lu/

2020: Pilot project SEO (Service d'évaluation et d'orientation)
